Future Akoma: Black Art Show
February 13, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
February 13th was declared Black Love Day in order to pay homage to representation and to highlight our love, whether with ourselves our loved ones, and journeying to our identities of self-love and adornment. Future Akoma is to represent our hearts as black folx moving forward in our experiences and to creatives seeking salvation and outlet in our ancestry and with our art-making. We birth worlds within creation just as our ancestors did before us.
Black visual artists will display work on their experiences, self-love, their muses, comic/anime art that is the story of our personhood and who we became and declared to be in the duration of our childhood to adulthood. We are here and we represent American culture, we are American culture and we are the motherland and the world at large. Please join us
